Frank’s dad, Darrell Harris told me, “Frank is solid on his commit. We discussed extensively before the recruiting process started that all he needed was to have one college coach to show that they believed in him. Frank Wilson had Coach Brumfield come to Clemens to talk to Frank almost immediately after being appointed head coach. Coach Brumfield assured Frank that once they secured the 2016 class that he would be back for him. He kept his word. Coach Wilson showed throughout this process that he was committed to Frank because he didn’t offer a bunch of other guys after he offered him. Other schools continued to offer other QB’s after offering Frank. This showed the confidence he had/has in Frank. That meant a lot to Frank and to us. Frank Wilson’s reputation for not being afraid to go after the “Diamond in the Rough” players is the other thing that we liked. He can spot talent even when it hasn’t peaked.”
Darrell and I both agreed that it is disappointing how San Antonio is very much overlooked in the recruiting process (in every sport) as Dallas, Houston, and Austin always get first dibs.
I want to see UTSA, Trinity University, and University of the Incarnate Word recruit in their own backyard, because as you can see from the list below of players to watch this season, we have a lot of talented players.
If I had extra time on my hands (I got a fulltime job, an 8-week old baby, a wife, and myself to take care off), I would become a local recruiter for San Antonio. You know something, I would probably be good at it because I love to talk, write, take photos, and people know who I am!!
